What is a DNS leak?

DNS leak has acquired a marketing ploy and in some unscrupulous services turning into a "horror story" to attract customers.

A “leak” usually means two situations:

First, all traffic is encrypted using a VPN, but DNS queries bypass this secure channel.

Such a leak is possible if the user manually intervenes in the routing and configuration of the VPN. It is solved using the configurations prepared by the service and recommended applications.

Second, when using a VPN, the computer continues to access the DNS servers of your internet service provider.

It issolved using fast DNS servers, for example, Cloudflare: 1.1.1.1

Our applications use DNS 1.1.1.1 by default, but we recommend that you additionally specify them in the settings of the main network interface and router. After that, even without a VPN, your computer will not access the DNS servers of your internet service provider.
